Originally from Eastern Canada, Danielle Smith also known as "Danie", has spent the last 20 years in Calgary, Alberta. Her love for the Western culture, the Majestic Rockies and its Wildlife was immediate. She has travelled and lived in most of Canada`s provinces. This gives her an unique flair for the variety of cultures and environments that exist across Canada, and many different landscapes can be seen in her work.
As a self-taught artist with her realistic painting style, her subjects often reflect her love for animals, wildlife, Eastern and Western lifestyles and their beautiful landscapes.
Danielle is a Certified General Accountant by profession, but her true love is painting. Her art started as a way of relaxation and has evolved into her favourite passion.
Danielle continues to expand her artistic knowledge by taking workshops from well-known local artists. Her travels provide a constant source of fresh inspiration for her artwork and her genuine personable nature is reflected through her artistic perspective.
